Budapest Exchange Update

Day Three in Budapest was truly something special. We began the morning with a chapel service, where our students had the unique opportunity to sing well-known Christian songs in Hungarian! It was a beautiful moment of connection across language and culture. They also heard an encouraging message on Psalm 42, reflecting on finding hope and strength in the Lord.

Next came a choice of language classes, with students diving into either German or Spanish. It was exciting to see them sharpen their skills and stretch themselves academically, even while abroad.

After lunch, the group headed out for a highlight of the trip so far—a guided tour of the Hungarian Parliament Building. Standing along the Danube, its soaring spires and grand halls were even more impressive in person. Students walked through some of the most historically significant rooms in Hungary, learning about the nation’s government, architecture, and rich cultural heritage. We even got to see the Crown Jewels of Hungary, a rare and unforgettable moment for everyone. Pretty amazing!

From there, we hopped aboard Budapest’s electric trolley and rode across the city to St. Stephen’s Basilica, the largest and most spectacular church in Hungary. The beauty and scale of the basilica left everyone in awe.

We ended the night at the magical Budapest Christmas Markets, bustling with lights, music, and festive cheer. Students sampled classic Hungarian Christmas treats—including lángos (a favorite!)—and soaked in one of the most iconic holiday experiences in Europe.

Another full and unforgettable day—Budapest continues to amaze us!
