Greece school trip

Italy & Greece 2025

A group from Veritas Collegiate Academy went for an inspiring 14-day exploration of Italy and Greece in spring 2025, partnering with Explorica to weave classical Christian wisdom with the cradle of Western civilization. Departing from the U.S., the round-trip airfare whisked to Athens, where guided tours of the majestic Acropolis and Parthenon illuminate the birthplace of democracy and philosophy, prompting reflections on truth, virtue, and human flourishing through Socratic dialogues and Pauline epistles. We ventured to Delphi's sacred oracle site and the Archaeological Museum, hiking ancient paths amid olive groves that echo myths and miracles, fostering stewardship of heritage and creation. Island-hop by ferry to the sun-kissed Cyclades, included a rejuvenating excursion to Delos National Archaeological Park—birthplace of Apollo and Artemis—for immersive ruins exploration, beachfront meditations, and discussions on divine order in nature. In Thessaloniki, trace St. Paul's missionary footsteps with visits to Byzantine churches and Philippi's biblical ruins, blending historical insights with community outreach in vibrant markets. We savored daily breakfasts of fresh yogurt and honey alongside dinners of souvlaki, moussaka, and seaside tavern feasts, all under the guidance of expert local historians and Explorica's dedicated student chaperones. This enriching voyage, empowered Veritas scholars to bridge ancient truths with modern faith, cultivating eloquent leaders with global vision and eternal perspective.
